During the first week of June, our students from Colegio Pedro de Valdivia Peñalolén demonstrated their talent, preparation and commitment to the English language in the national Spelling Bees organised by the English-Speaking Union (ESU), standing out for their enthusiasm, discipline and excellent results.On Wednesday 4 June, it was the turn of the Year 3 and Year 4 representatives, who attended British Royal School. The day was full of excitement, and our students faced each round of the competition with great composure. We would especially like to recognise Tomás from Year 4, who secured a place among the six national finalists, marking a significant achievement at national level.On Thursday 5 June, the Year 5 and Year 6 representatives travelled to Colegio San Nicolás Diácono in Chicureo, where they also delivered an outstanding performance. With confidence and a strong command of English, they progressed through several stages of the competition, spelling complex words such asdepressed,deceive,lawyerandthistle, reflecting their effort and consistent preparation.Finally, on Friday 6 June, it was the turn of the Year 7 and Year 8 students, who took part at Colegio Pumahue de Chicureo. The competition was challenging, with highly difficult words such astechniques,ecosystemandmanoeuvre. Even so, our students responded excellently, with special recognition going to our Year 7 representative, who advanced to finish among the six finalists in his category.We proudly congratulate all the participants for representing CPV Peñalolén with such commitment and enthusiasm! Once again, they showed that English is not only learned, but lived in our school community.
